The most recent gadget came from observing a highly respected video assist operator cleaning the Gaffa tape marks off his monitor, (it’s quite normal to tape over the screen an area that matches the main film camera), this led to BlankIT, a device that blanks the top & bottom of a video display to again match the film cameras view. |

Now here’s something different, from an old contact at Imagination, an architectural lighting effect using Lumileds to display the lift position in a new tower block in the city of London. Using contacts from the lift controller, create an appealing visual display that also indicates the lift position. This is in the bag and being constructed right now. |

New problem this week - rope light control |

The last completed job revolves around a Kramer AV switcher, whilst being highly competent in it’s performance, it was not that easy to use. The job involved a number of rotary shaft encoders to select input channels and a four character display of said inputs. Each encoder display unit represented a different output. |
